Ophthalmologist Questions Eyelid Twitching

Can anything be done for eyelid spasms?

My eye keeps twitching, and it's driving me crazy. I tried to apply a compress on them to stop it, but it's not working. Is there anything else that I can do for these spasms?

Yes, there are several treatments. See an ophthalmologist.
Stop caffeinated beverages, lower your stress and get a good night's sleep. If none of these are any issues, you may have a neurologic cause and should seek the consultation of a Neuro-ophthalmologist
Botox was released by the FDA for muscle spasms of the eyelids. If the spasms are severe and interfere with vision. some insurances will cover it. If not, usually a small amount will treat it and would not be expensive. Good luck.

Hi there,

Spasms are most often related to caffeine intake. If they are bothersome to you, consider reducing the amount of coffee, tea, or chocolate or any other caffeinated beverages.

It's due to spasms of eyelid muscles triggered by stress, caffeine, or raised adrenaline in your circulation. De-stress, reduce caffeine, have a check-up to exclude neurological issues.Try to induce disruption of the spastic neuro-circuit by pinching the area of the spasm. Usually, you should be able to disrupt the spasms immediately.
