“Can braces fix my child's big tooth gap?”
My daughter is 12 years old and she has a huge gap between her tooth front teeth. Are braces able to fix this? I can already see how it's affecting her self-confidence, and I don't want her to live with that gap for the rest of her life.

Braces can fix wide spaces. Does your daughter have any habits? Was she sucking her thumb when she was younger? When thumb sucking stops, some children place their tongue between their upper and lower teeth. When your daughter starts wearing braces, your dentist will tell you anything that your daughter needs to do.
Braces can definitely fix this. She should be see by an orthodontist. An x-ray will be needed to help determine the cause of the gap.
Absolutely, but be certain you see a doctor that specializes in orthodontics and not a general dentist who is doing orthodontics.
Yes! You mostly likely should see an orthodontist and he or she can help guide you to close that gap for your daughter.
Yes, depending on your bite, orthodontic treatment can usually correct the gap between the two front teeth. Other things to have evaluated are possible causes of the gap, which could be a low maxillary frenum attachment, a tongue thrust, a habit of placing something between the teeth, or small-sized teeth.

Yes! Braces can definitely fix this concern! You should make an appointment to see an orthodontist for a new patient exam. At that visit the orthodontist will perform a thorough examination on your daughter to determine what the best treatment for her will be.
Good luck!

There are many options in the ortho world that may be an option for her. If she's worried about it being a visual issue she could inquire about Invisalign.
