“Can chest x-rays detect lung diseases?”
I'm 32, and my doctor said that I have to have a chest x-ray for my lungs since I have a chronic cough. Can chest x-ray detect lung diseases?

A: Definitely. chest X-rays are the work horses in the preliminary workup. Then, depending on the results, if further evaluation is needed, a CT scan of the chest would be helpful.

Yes, but at your age, I promise you, your lungs are fine. You are just suffering the aftermath of an old viral illness, like the flu. Or you have allergies. You will be fine. You just need some steroids.
Yes, of course, but a CT is better.
