Can mono cause developmental issues?

My adolescent daughter is 15 years old. She has been bedridden with a case of mono for almost 10 days. Can it cause some kind of serious developmental issues?

Hello

Usually mono is self resolving and doesn’t cause long term side effects. Sore throat and body aches are pretty bad but they usually resolve. Hope she feels better.
Mono can cause extreme tiredness fever and enlarged lymph nodes for 6-8 weeks. It is important that she gets enough rest and does not injure the abdomen when the spleen is swollen. If she is not soon feeling better, she may need to be rechecked. It is not common to cause developmental issues.
