Dermatologist Questions White heads

Can swimming in the ocean cause whiteheads?

My visit with my family to the beach this summer seemed to leave my face full of whiteheads. Can swimming in the ocean cause whiteheads?

Not in the spring or early usually, but exposure to a lot of sun can especially if one has had little previous exposure such as first or early exposurein the Spring etc. Sometimes excessive sweating clogs the sweat ducts and causes these bumps. Cool compresses help!
Visit your local dermatologist and discuss your options and diagnosis.
Usually not. You can sometimes get a folliculitis, but that is generally on your body.

No but the friction of rubbing with towels and applying creams can increase blackhead and Whitehead production
