Can teething cause coughing?

My baby is 6 months old and he is teething. Can teething cause coughing?

Not that I know of. Teething syndromes : irritability or fussiness, chewing constantly, low grade fever, drooling constantly, loose bowel movement. Hopefully this helps.
May cause coughing if excessive drooling.
I wouldn't think teething would result in a cough.
Symptoms that are typically associated with teething in a 6-month-old would include lots of drooling, fever, fussiness, diarrhea often that immediately causes a bad diaper rash, not sleeping well, and/or tugging at one or both ears. Coughing is NOT one of the symptoms typically associated with teething, but could be related to excessive oral secretions, perhaps. It
is always challenging to distinguish teething symptoms from those of a bona fide infectious process such as upper respiratory infection or ear infection. Your pediatrician can help.

The answer is no. Although teething has been attributed to many things, including drooling, pain, waking at night, fussiness, etc., the only thing for certain which I know is that teething causes only one thing.......teeth!!

No, teething alone should not cause cough, nor fever. Teething can cause itching of the gums, and some drooling. I recommend seeing a healthcare provider to examine the baby and determine the cause of the cough, which is most likely a respiratory tract infection.
