“Can varicose veins affect ability to become pregnant?”
I'm 30 years old and I have varicose veins around my groin from my previous pregnancy. My doctor said that they would go away, but they didn't at all. A year later now, I'm thinking about having another child. Can varicose veins affect my ability to become pregnant?

No. It should not. It might get worse during pregnancy due to the pressure and hormones causing the veins to dilate.

No it won't. Your varicose veins will likely get worse though.
Varicose veins in the legs do not affect your ability to get pregnant. Veins in the groin do raise suspicion for pelvic congestion syndrome. You should reach out to your OB/GYN to get it worked up further.
No. But the next pregnancy will make your varicose veins worse. After your next pregnancy, get your veins evaluated. They won't go away. They will only get worse.

Sorry to hear you are going thru this during these already difficult times. Varicose Vein disease is typically a disease of the veins in the lower extremities, and as such cannot cause infertility. There is another, related, condition called Pelvic Congestion Syndrome. This is the formation of varices related to the ovarian veins. This can be associated with infertility among other things. Consult your gynecologist about this specific condition.

The short answer is: Maybe. More likely though when you get pregnant and they may become much larger. He may have what is termed deep venous insufficiency of your pelvic veins or pudendal vein incompetence. This should be further evaluated.
