“Can you detect breast cancer with a CT scan?”
I am a 50 year old female. I want to know if you can detect breast cancer with a CT scan?

The short answer is yes, but not in all cases and subtypes. Mammography is currently the gold standard. If you have 'dense breasts' and/or a higher risk for breast cancer (BRCA1, etc.), mammography may be augmented with MRI. Basically, CT is little to no role in detection, but can play a role in cancer staging.
