Can you go to the ER for neck pain?

I am a 28 year old male. I wonder if you can go to the ER for neck pain?

YOU CAN, ESPECIALLY IF TRAUMA TO THE NECK WAS INVOLVED. IF THERE WAS NO TRAUMA, AND THE PAIN HAS BEEN THERE FOR MORE THAN A WEEK OR 2, BETTER TO SEE AN URGENT CARE OR PCP, AS AN MRI MAY BE NEEDED.
The ER would be appropriate if you have fever and a stiff neck. For garden-variety neck pain you should go to your primary doctor, Sports Medicine, or Urgent Care.
Of course you can.....and probably should..... go to the ER for pain in your neck, particularly if the pain began after an injury, fall, or motor vehicle accident. The ER physician can do specific tests for the pain you are having that will pinpoint the source of your pain and allow her to suggest or prescribe the most effective treatment for your pain.
Sure. We can evaluate any number of emergent neck conditions.
