With regards to your question about whether you can ovulate without an LH surge, it is highly unlikely that you can ovulate without an LH surge. The LH surge is what triggers ovulation, and it works synergistically with the FSH.
The LH is necessary to TRIGGER the start of OVULATION, and it works synergistically with the other gonadotropic hormone FSH. The LH, once released, begins to form the corpus luteum of pregnancy.
Unlikely, LH hormone release is necessary for ovulation.
