Can you take a bath after a vein treatment?

I am a 54 year old female. I will have a vein treatment soon. Can you take a bath after a vein treatment?

When we do vein treatments for spider or varicose veins, we ask patients NOT to take a bath for about a week. Showers are allowed, but soaking in a warm bath will dilate the vessels we are trying to keep closed.
It's not recommended to take a hot bath or shower after vein treatment, as heat causes veins to dilate, and that may undo the procedure and cause the veins to reopen. Talk to your doctor about their recommendation for when you can resume hot baths. I recommend that my patients shower with lukewarm water for the first several days after vein procedures.
