Physiatrist (Physical Medicine) Questions Memory Loss

I cannot remember anything that I study. Is it a psychiatric problem?

What influences the memory in a person? I am unable to study anything that I study during the day. Is this a psychiatric problem or something else. Will any health supplements help me improve my memory?

Memory problems alone are outside the scope of my practice. Please speak with your pcp to start. S/he may refer you to a psychiatrist if no other cause is found.

Attention is the key. I don’t know how you study, what distractions are present (radio, TV, etc.), how much sleep you get, or your mood, but it is clear that you are not paying attention to concepts of what you are attempting to study. Try to find a dedicated time when you are awake, well fed, and create an area of minimal distraction. I doubt supplements will help you as much as the manufacturers.
No, not necessary, but not normal if you are a healthy individual you need to be seen by a neurologist and have a brain scan MRI to ascertain if it is nothing serious. Memory testing is essential, do not go and spend money on supplements without first being seen by a neurological department.
There are many factors affecting memory. Attention and focus are needed for study. Do you have stressful relationship or job? It is better to seek medical help from a physician. Need blood work to check your thyroid function.
