“I have soreness around my vagina after sex. What is causing this?”
After having sex, I have extreme soreness around my vagina. I am very worried. What is causing this and can it be cured?

If you are post-menopausal, it may be due to low estrogen, and vaginal lubricants may help. If you are not menopausal, you may have endometriosis, then see a gynecologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Several possibles at the menopause; atrophic change is most likely. Otherwise, consider infection.

Primarily, pain associated with sex, immediately prior to sex, or after sex, can have a multitude of reasons that range from 1. Physical anatomy, hormonal status, infectious status, age, experience, etc. I recommend speaking with your personal gynecologist.
If you are premenopausal, this could be an early sign of a yeast infection or another type of infection. You should see a gynecologist to be evaluated. If you are postmenopausal, this can be treated with estrogen cream or other lubricants. Again, see your gynecologist for evaluation
