Daughter's first break-up, how do I help her?

I'm a single dad, and my daughter is 16-years-old and is experiencing her first break-up. Her and this boy have been dating for a year, actually, and even though it was a high school relationship, she's taking it really hard. I tried to joke around to make her feel better, but that's not really working. What is the best way to talk her about this?

Maybe find someone else for her to talk to about it. She may be easier to open up to a woman or someone else. Try not to joke with her because this is important to her. Try a little spoiling her for now and she will come around.
