“Do they sedate you in hospice?”
My friend's 80-year-old mom is in hospice and I was wondering if she would be sedated from feeling any pain while there. Do they sedate you in hospice?

They will make them comfortable. Actually, they give more to those people than others for obvious reasons. You do not want to have them suffer in their last few months or weeks.
In hospice, comfort care is provided as a combination of medications, some of which have sedative properties.
It will depend entirely on her condition and her physicians who will decide on any necessary medications.
I'm sorry to hear that. The short answer is they would use a combination of pain medications, some of which may have sedation as a side effect. Other legal jurisdictions, with patient consent, may use other medications that cause sedation.
