“Do wounds for tonsillectomy last long?”
My son just had a tonsillectomy and now he has scabs from the procedure. The doctor said that they'll just fall off on their own and that we don't have anything to worry about. But do they last long? My son feels some discomfort from them.

It's his healing process. Use 3% Peroxide to clean area bid for now.
They are usually completely gone by 3 weeks. Yes ice cream does sooth the throat after tonsillectomy.
