I am a 34 year old female. I wonder if you get anesthetic for stitches?

It could be done under local anesthesia.
Probabaly just a local anesthetic. Something to numb your skin.
Typically a local anesthetic such as Lidocaine will be injected in the area surrounding the stitches to numb the area.
