Does honey help seasonal allergies?

My son is 8 years old and has seasonal allergies. Does honey help seasonal allergies?

1 Answer

There is no good scientific evidence that honey helps with seasonal allergies. However there are anecdotal reports of people who eat honey that is produced locally that it may reduce the allergy symptoms. The rationale is that is pollen in with the honey and you’re actually getting minute quantities of whatever it is that you’re allergic to and that helps to desensitize you. However there’s no scientific evidence that that works.
