“Does inflammatory bowel disease cause weight loss?”
I'm 40 years old, and I currently have IBD. But I noticed that I'm losing quite a bit of weight. Is this a normal part of IBD? Does it usually cause weight loss?

Yes, IBD can easily cause weight loss because inflammation of the intestines eats up the calories that you eat.
It’s certainly not a good sign. Can mean uncontrolled inflammatory bowel disease or dysphasia/precancerous changes. DO NOT WASTE TIME. VIST YOUR GASTROENTEROLOGIST ASAP.
It’s pretty common due to problems absorbing nutrients from food. Ask your gastroenterologist for suggestions as to what kind of diet will help.
