My 11 year old child was diagnosed with bronchitis. Does my child need antibiotics for bronchitis?

Most studies show that bronchitis is a viral infection. However, many physician do prescribe antibiotics. It is rather unusual for children to get bronchitis. They usually either have pneumonia, bronchiolitis, or asthma exacerbation, and not really bronchitis
NO! Almost all bronchitis in young children is viral and will not respond to antibiotics
