My wife and I have been trying to conceive for about a year and nothing has happened. Is my wife having problems with fertility?

Fertility is 40% female, 40% male, and about 20% both. Fertility is not an uncomplicated situation and will require testing for both of you. You both need to see a specialist who can perform the evaluation on both of you.
Various tests will need to be done on your wife by her gynecologist but about 40% of the time the problem is with the male. A simple semen analysis can be done before your wife undergoes any invasive testing.
Fertility is a couple's problem and not always just the wife. Get a consult from a fertility specialist.
Either of you could have a problem, or maybe not. It is a good idea to get some tests done since you have been trying for a year. Please visit your wife’s gynecologist to start the process. Her gynecologist will be able to order semen analysis for you, too.
