Ophthalmologist Questions Myasthenia Gravis

eyelid spasms

For a couple of months I have had spasms or twitching in my eyelids, for the past 5 days they have been non-stop. I dont think it's myasthenia as it occurs throughout the day, can this be only from lack of sleep or is it due to another condition?

Most of the time the cause of your symptoms remains a mystery. Rarely it may be due to low serum calcium or other discoverable conditions.
Could be stress or irritation of the eyes causing spasms

Eyelid spasms can occur with insomnia, fatigue, stress, or even excess caffeine. Dry eye or eye irritation can also be a common cause of lid spasms. As your spasms seem to be worsening, I would recommend that you see an ophthalmologist for a full eye exam.
