Feeling heat from laser during bladder cancer treatment?

I am a 61 year old male, 6 feet tall, and 137 pounds. I had bladder cancer. It was a small spot and I had it removed in the office with a laser with no problems. I felt the heat from the laser when the doctor was removing the cancer spot.

I have another doctor appointment coming up for a cystoscopy to see if the cancer came back. I have been getting very nervous about the way I felt the heat from the laser the last time. If I have to get another spot removed in my upcoming appointment, I want to know, is it normal to feel the heat from the laser like I did?

It is not atypical to feel the heat source during these procedure. This can also be done under anesthesia, but if the spot is small enough, you can spare yourself the risks of anesthesia by having it done in the office.
I think the histopatholgy (microscopic examination of the tissue removed) of the piece was removed is important to know.
The new finding on the cystoscope will determine the management.

Yes. The laser is a heat source. That is normal.
