Pediatrician Questions Headaches

My son is complaining of frequent headaches. Can I give him medicines?

My son is 4-years-old and has headaches quite frequently. We aren't sure what the issue is, and no matter what we give him (over-the-counter), the headaches do little with helping it settle. What should our next course of action be?

A 4 year old should not have chronic headaches without further investigation. I have seen migraines and other recurrent headaches at this age but it is not common. Make sure you have had his vision checked and get a through checkup instead of giving chronic pain meds at this age.
Make an appointment with your pediatrician to discuss his headaches and to take more history about his headaches!
