Dentist Questions Tooth sensitivity

My front teeth are sensitive. What should I do?

My front teeth feel sensitive. Every time I drink ice cold water, they hurt and I'm not sure of what to really do about it. What is usually done for sensitive teeth? Does it require treatment?

There are some reasons why teeth may be sensitive and some of these reasons can cause your teeth to need root canals.
Often times your teeth can be sensitive due to an inflammation of the pulp(nerve) and the inflamation can be reversible or ireversible. Reversible pulpitis can become irreversible if the cause of irritation is not adressed, so is best to consult with your dentist to determine what is causing your teeth to be sensitive and how to fix that problem.
Due to stress, you grind your teeth at night. A quick solution would be to get a night guard from your dentist. Second, your bite needs to be analyzed
Sensodyne works well. If sensitivity persists the tooth could be sealed.
