“I got hit in the nose by a ball, pretty badly. What should I do?”
While playing football, the ball hit my nose very badly. While there was no bleeding, I'm still in a lot of pain. Could it be a nose fracture?

It most likely is broken Go see an Ear,Nose,Throat specialist. The emergency room Dr will just refer you to one anyway
Yes the nose could be fractured, often the cartilage is more damaged than the actual bone. If you are concerned about a possible fracture you would first start with x-rays of the head and then consider getting a CT/MRI to evaluate the soft tissues
Yes, it should have an ENT specialist examine it to determine if there is deviation of the septum and blocking off of the nasal passages.
Sure could be. It's not dangerous as long as there is not a hematoma or blood clot against the cartilage or soft part of the nose.
Ouch!! that can be quite painful and yes this could represent a fracture. Look in the mirror and at old pictures of yourself to see if you see any malalignment of your nose. Also, ask your spouse or friends if your nose looks different to them. It may be displaced if they say yes or you notice a difference.
If so, or if the pain does not resolve quickly, you should seek medical advice to see if a fracture is present.
Expect some bruising.
Good Luck!!
