“How are bacterial infections treated in children?”
My daughter is 8 years old and she has a bacterial infection. I want to know how are bacterial infections treated in children?

True bacterial infections are treated with antibiotics for the most part - occasionally, it is a wait and watch approach to let the body fight off the infection - it depends on where the infection occurs. Your doctor should be able to advise you appropriately.

If it is truly an infection caused by a bacteria, it is best treated with an antibiotic that treats that particular kind of bacteria. Viral infections often can mimic bacterial infections and are not improved with the use of antibiotics. Of course, helping the body to heal also requires proper fluid intake and good nutrition.
