Porcelain veneers are a beautiful restoration and are "bonded" to teeth with similar materials that are used for tooth colored fillings.
Veneers will bond with your tooth to become one! basically the outer layer of your tooth is substituted with porcelain or composite material! For veneers to be applied to your teeth and the longevity, the more enamel you have the result will be more permanent, and the more dentin is exposed the bond will not be as good as the enamel. the expert dentist will know what to do. Veneers are "tile like" porcelain teeth that are placed over the front part of your teeth. Dentists use a technique that requires him to ETCH the enamel outer surface of teeth (like etching glass) then an additional thin layer of adhesive is used finally a very strong composite is applied between your remaining tooth structure and the veneer . Ultra violet light hardens the composite and secures the veneer that must be polished properly.
Veneers most often are made in a dental laboratory of models that are copies of the original teeth. The veneers are custom made to fit the teeth for which they are made. Usually, the original teeth need to have some
shaping made to them prior to making the mold that the dental laboratory uses. In some cases, no shaping of the original teeth is required. The veneers and the original teeth are super cleaned, and thin layers of
bonding material are applied to the veneers and teeth. Then the two are connected together, cured and polished. Another way to visualize veneer procedures is being similar to getting artificial fingernails but on a fancier, more precise procedure.

It depends on the reason that you want veneers in the first place. Changing color, shape, or size of your teeth each require a different type of veneer. Consult a dentist with a significant amount of training and experience. I restored my first veneer 30 years ago. How they are fabricated, the skill level of the dentist, and how you take care of them are just some of the factors in how long they will last.
