Pathologist Questions Blood Tests

How can I prepare for my blood test?

I need to have a blood test next week. Is there anything that I should do to prepare for it?

No. The only thing that you need to be aware is for what type of test the blood was ordered. If it is because of cholesterol and other specific tests, you need to go fasting. Thank you.
Depends on the test, If it is for glucose or lipids, I would recommend not having anything to eat or drink after midnight, so you will have a true baseline. I can't think of anything else you would need to do for other sorts of tests. You should also ask the drawing center for advice.

It depends what is being tested for. Often, the person is asked to fast for at least 12 hours prior to the test procedure. Most of the tests do not require prior fasting.
