Pain is your body's way of letting you know that something is wrong. To get personalized weight training advice, please go to www.healthcarelogics.com.
The elbow is a complex joint and without knowing location of pain, type of pain(dul, sharp, burning) and what may have started problem it is difficult to give you a perfect answer. The most common elbow injury in your age with no trauma would be tendonitis. If on the outer side that is tennis elbow. Inner side golfers elbow. Front biceps and back triceps. By far most common is lateral( outside) type from strain of over use (lifting). This can be very difficult to get rid of especially in dominant extremity. So first try to find cause and modify activity. Less reps, weight etc. During this trial perform ice massage 2-3 times daily and stretch frequently. Remember typing on computer causes this much more than tennis. Can add tennis elbow brace, topicals such as biofreeze, icy hot. When pain resolves begin eccentric elbow exercises with slow progression. If pain persists should have thorough exam, radiographs and sometimes injections with steroid or prp can be helpful. Good luck!
