“How do they put cheek implants in?”
I am a 34 year old female and I want to get cheek implants. How do they put cheek implants in?

Permanent cheek implants are generally inserted through a small incision inside the mouth above the upper molars
Cheek implants are tradionally placed through incisions inside the upper mouth. They can also be placed through the lower lid or via a face lift incission.More recently, I have opted to not use foreign materials, and instead reconstitute the cheek from its underlying muscle and fat. Please remember that the implant may move, be assymtric and cause nerve problems.
Cheek implants are typically placed through incisions inside the mouth. My preferred procedure to address this facial region is fat grafting as the results appear more natural and complications are less frequent.
Good luck!

Usually through incisions inside the mouth although sometimes they can be place via an incision in the eyelid or even through a facelift incision. I don't do this operation. Cheek implants can shift, can sometimes be seen or felt, and can get infected. A better way to enhance flat cheeks is by using your own fat, which is natural and, when successful, permanent.
Great question, Cheek implants are a really good option for those patients who do not have a prominent cheek bone. There are a few ways that you can put cheek implants in. One way to do it is through a small incision in the upper gum line. This lets us get access to the cheek bones and be able to place the implant where we want to. It also allows us to find and preserve the nerve that gives sensation to the cheek and upper teeth. A second way that a cheek implant can be placed is through a lower eyelid blepharoplasty incision known as a transconjunctival incision. This is a less commonly done approach. The appropriate approach can be decided with you and your facial plastic surgeon.
Cheek implants usually are placed against your cheek bones to "vault" your cheeks up and provide more volume. This can typically be done from the back side of the eyelid so that there is no scar or incision in the skin. The implants are then secured in position and the back of the lid is closed without any the wiser!
