How do you get out of bed after abdominal surgery?

I am a 38 year old male and I will have an abdominal surgery. How do you get out of bed after abdominal surgery?

There are so very many variables in trying to best answer such a question. Depends on the weight and heaviness of the abdomen, the height and weight of the patient, the type of surgery planned, the type of bed from which you arise, and so on. Make all these answers available to your surgeon and he can best advise you.
Most people generally roll their side and sit up by swinging their legs down. It is usually too uncomfortable to rise up as if doing a sit up. The pain usually gets better in 1-4 weeks.
