To get rid of the numbness, I recommend seeking a thorough examination from a healthcare professional who can diagnose the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment. You may rub a bag of uncooked rice or dried beans over the toe to help stimulate sensation and nerve growth. Vitamin B6 50 mg twice a day for a couple of months may also help nerves grow. Sometimes numbness cannot be cured.

First he would have to know why your toe is numb. Is it coming from a peripheral nerve? Is it coming from the lower back? You should have some diagnostic studies and woke up to see why you have this so that you can get the best treatment.
If it is the Great toe (big toe) the most common cause is a pinched nerve- specifically the L5 nerve root. (If the little toe- the S1 nerve root) I have seen a numb great toe in people that are repeatedly kicking with the foot as in a traditional style football kick as opposed to kicking soccer style. If it is one of the other toes, it may be due to a Mortons Neuroma which is a pinched nerve between the toes, that may develop from improper footwear. There are a series of tests that your medical provider can do to assist in determining the specific source of your symptoms. You can always try to rest it and avoid tight fitting shoes. However if the symptoms are getting worse, recommend getting in to seeing someone to evaluate.
