How do you know if your child has a developmental delay?

My 2 year old son is developing at a much slower rate than my daughter did. I see it but my husband doesn't, which is putting a strain on our marriage. How do you know if your child has a developmental delay?

Boys and girls may develop at different rates, even in the same family. A pediatrician can help determine if there is a problem or if it's still in the normal range.
He needs to see his pediatrician for a developmental assessment. However, girls tend to develop faster than boys. There is also a 2-3 month variation on doing things and it still is normal your daughter may have done things ahead of schedule and your son may be on target.
