People with bipolar disorder can experience extreme mood swings, feeling very high (manic) or very low (depressed), which affects their thoughts and behavior.

Actually, there is no clear answer to this question. First, every person has their unique way of thinking depending on the circumstances. A second problem is that different professionals use different criteria in using this diagnosis. You probably have a pretty good idea of how your friend thinks. Knowing your friend has been given that diagnosis is not going to tell you how he or she thinks.
