Usually you’ll experience relief, but it’s common to feel soreness for a day or two afterwards. That pain will fo away after that.
Great question. Well there are ONLY three things that CAN happen. You can feel better, worse or the same. I tell my patients I’d rather you not feel the same. Feeling better is obviously great but feeling worse could mean we are doing what’s needed and you may be feeling constructive soreness. Kinda like working out in the gym one day and feeling sore muscles the next day. Healing takes time so even feeling the same is ok the first few visits. Most patients feel better or feel constructive soreness.
Most of the time your back feels absolutely amazing after your adjustment. You feel lighter, free of stress, energized and more balanced. Some people have some soreness after the initial treatment but that dissipates after a couple hours. You should relax and take in the adjustment with the knowledge that your body is being aligned and your nerves are flowing freely without any interference.
Results will vary. Factors: how bad was your condition at the beginning, how long have you had it, your lifestyle habits etc., but in general most patients feel significantly better following their treatment. And the beauty of it all, is that it’s natural and safe.
Typically new patients may feel some mild soreness after their first adjustment. It depends on the severity and condition. Your chiropractor should give you a better insight after a thorough evaluation and possible X-rays. It is a great place to start for the least invasive approach to low back pain relief.
It is important to communicate to the chiropractor, that it will be your first adjustment. He'll explain that it is safe and you will feel relief after the adjustment. One of the reasons, that chiropractic is popular, is the immediate relief after an adjustment.
