I am a 50 year old female. I want to get a cheek lift. How is a cheek lift done?

A cheek lift is the upper portion of a facelift. It is generally done through an incision which starts in the temple and extends down in front of the ear. The skin of the temple and cheek area is then elevated from the tissue beneath and sutures are placed in the tissues beneath the skin to lift it. The skin is then draped back over this lifted tissue and redundant skin removed and sutures placed.
Cheek lift is usually done through 2 separate incisions. It is either done via a small incision in your mouth along the cheek. This is called a trans-buccal incision. Another incision is done through the inside of the lower eyelid. This is called a trans-conjunctival incision. Either incision heals well and there is no scarring. The best incision is decided after your exam.
The cheek lift was done through a lower lid incission ,extending laterally beyond the corner of the lid. I have abandoned this technique as the heavy cheek is being poorly supported by the thin lid. I operate at the lowermost lateral hairline, extending into the ear. This allows accurate sculpting of all of the tissues beneath the cheekbone in both volume and direction
It sounds like you are a candidate for a Mini-Facelift. My favorite technique is the MACS short scar Mini-Facelift. Developed in Europe, it is the ideal approach for the younger patient, not ready for a full facelift, or patients who desire a less invasive procedure with a shorter recovery time. It addresses both the mid-face area (especially the jowls) as well as the neck, if needed.
Good luck.
Good luck.
There are a variety of ways to lift cheeks. A facelift will do this to some degree and some facelift variations target the mid cheek area. Barbed threads have been used but work poorly and I won't use them. Fat grafting is an excellent, permanent way to add volume to the cheeks and this can produce a "lift" effect as well.
Hi, and thanks for your question. This is a complicated question based on many different factors. All things considered, the most effective way to rejuvenate the cheek is via deep plane facelift surgery to restore the natural orientation and volume to the midface. I would recommend an in-person consultation if you're interested in learning more.
