“How long do veneers last?”
I'm 30 years old, and I think I want to have veneers over my teeth. How long do they typically last?

It depends on the type of veneer and your bite. In ideal cases with excellent oral hygiene, no grinding/clenching and a strong enamel bond, porcelain veneers can last 10+ years.
Veneers are NOT something that most people should make a final judgement. Your dentist will tell you if it is the correct approach to better your teeth. When done properly, veneers last over ten years. I have done many hundreds that are 25 years and more.
Veneers can last a long time, I have done veneers that lasted over 32 years and still functioning in their mouth. It all depends if the dentist can bond to enamel, and the least invasive technique! According to the American Dental association, if done properly it last about 10 years! Please read about veneers here with lots of information:

Veneers are a great option. They allow you to change anything about the shape, position and color of teeth to enhance your smile and if you would like give your teeth a bleached appearance without having to bleach them again. They can last a lifetime if done with a high quality lab and if the teeth are prepped correctly by the dentist. Also the cement used can make a difference in how long they last. It is possible for some of the veneers to not cement correctly or to have issues from time to time so you should plan on an occasional one that needs to be re-cemented. Our practice warranties all our work so that patients don't have to worry about additional costs should something like that happen. You should find a practice that will warranty their work for you as well.
Hello,
Typically, veneers last 8 to 10 years due to leakage of cement margins. On a conservative note, it’s always best to keep your teeth natural. Unless your teeth are damaged, full of decay or fillings, I would just whiten them and be happy with God's design.
Hope this helps.

Great question. On average, veneers will last about 10-15 years. That does not mean at the 10 mark they fall off and break. It means that typically it is around that time that we start to see chips, fractures, and maybe even a cavity at the edge. You are young enough that you should expect to have them replaced at least once in your life. Also, if there is a problem with one veneer, we can just replace that one and not have to mess with the others.
