My son is 8 years old and he woke up with a stiff neck. How long does a stiff neck last in a child?

If it is due to a muscle strain usually a few days. A lot of times kids get sick with a cold and they have swollen lymph nodes or glands that can cause a stiff neck. If it lasts for more than a few days, I would take him to his pediatrician. Hope he feels better!
