The results should be permanent. Your result after 6 months is typically long-lasting.
CO2 Laser Scar Removal is very long-lasting! It is effective in treating scars if you have light skin and do not have a tendency to form pigmented scars. However, the CO2 Laser can only be used on the face, and not other areas of the body.

I find laser scar removal to be very disappointing and no longer offer it. Whatever result you obtain, which will be modest, if that, should be permanent, however.
