How many centimeters is too late for an epidural?

I am a 26 year old female. I want to know how many centimeters is too late for an epidural?

There is no magic no for dilation and epidural placement.It depends on your tolerance to pain some people are comfortable at 3-4 cm others are not but if you are dilated to 8-9 cm it might be to late to get benefits of epidural.
It depends how fast are you progressing, if we are talking about an epidural for labor, if your labor has been difficult, and there has been slow progression, you can still get an epidural at 8 cm dilation (delivery occurs at 10 cm dilation).
