Dentist Questions Wisdom Teeth

How serious is an infected wisdom tooth?

I think my right bottom wisdom tooth is infected. The pain is intensifying by the hour, and I have a sore throat as well. What should I do?

Very, need to see a Dr ASAP.
Hello,
You should definitely schedule with your dentist to have them either remove the wisdom teeth, or to get a referral for an oral surgeon to have them done. If you are not able to get the extractions scheduled soon. It is advisable to start on antibiotics as soon as you can as well (this will also help with the pain.) The infection from the wisdom teeth can spread into other parts of your body such as your lymph nodes, thus causing the sore throat.

Need to put on antibiotics and eventually extracted
Good morning. Wisdom teeth are no joke, infection of it can determine serious infection of sinuses and tissue around, with the risk of getting in the blood and sending the infection to a vital organ. Go to a dentist who does surgery or a surgeon. Good luck!
