By eating healthy food and by moving and participating in simple strength training activity every day.
Weight gain during pregnancy is a common problem for many women. Regular exercise provided your doctor feels this is safe can help. Higher protein diets such as “The Bradley Diet” can also be helpful. The diet also includes lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Remember to clear all changes with your doctor.
You should see your gynecologist to rule out toxemia of pregnancy.
First of all, the usual is to watch what you eat the entire pregnancy. Pick healthy foods and don’t use the pregnancy as an excuse to pig out. Control cravings by eating protein with each meal and when you are hungry. Exercise every day. You don’t necessarily need to run a marathon, but do what you enjoy, good choices are walking, yoga, tai chi, and swimming. If you are lucky enough to attend a gym or can join one, take light aerobic classes. Be as active as you can and the weight will be easier to control as well as you will have an easier delivery.
Control your stress. Stress increases cortisol, which increases crazy cravings and adds weight to your belly. Try to meditate, deep breaths, and take this time to pamper yourself.
