Is a blocked ear an emergency?

I have a 9 year old daughter and her left ear is blocked. Is a blocked ear an emergency?

Not really, but can be quite distressing. Use Debrox or Peroxide with water instillations
Rarely. Cerumen, or ear wax, build up is usually the cause and can be treated by allowing warm water to run in the ear while you are in the shower and gently cleaning your ear canal with Q-tip. Repeat daily for a week or so....the improvement will be noticeable. If this doesn't relieve your problem, see your physician, urgent care clinic or emergency department.
