Is chiropractic treatment safe for babies?

My baby is 3 years old. I want to know if chiropractic treatment is safe for babies?

Yes, Chiropractic care is safe for babies. I would suggest finding a Chiropractor with specific continuing education and board certifications to treat infants and younger children, as they have specific skills geared towards treatment of babies, infants, and young children.
Hello. Chiropractic treatment is safe for babies. I know of many of my peers who are pediatric chiropractors who treat babies as young as 1-2 months old very carefully and gently with great success on the following health concerns: colic, torticollis, otitis media (inner ear infection), etc. I would find a good and reputable pediatric chiropractic doctor who has had a successful practice with grateful and satisfied patients. Hope this helps.
Adjusting babies takes as much force as playing a piano. Yes, babies get chiropractic adjustments all the time. I had a patient bring in their baby after it had fallen off the bed, and it would not stop crying and sleep was not happening. They were truck drivers and were going over the road the next day. I saw them on Sunday and the baby had a moderate subluxated C1 cervical vertebra...this is what I found. I found it and corrected it. I saw the patients daughter a total of 3x in 2 weeks and she was fine after that. Babies are the best patients, because we see the results almost immediately. I have adjusted all my children and grand children.
Hello,
I personally see babies as soon as mom notices anything not symmetrical about how the baby moves , holds its head, or for colic, ear infections or unable to sleep well. The main thing is to find someone who won't force your three year old to do something they aren't ready for. You cannot safely adjust a child that is fighting the adjustment! So we start slow and gentle and I have three year olds running to jump on my table because they feel better afterward. I have also had kids on autism spectrum that won't stand being touched by me. Then I train parents on some gentle massage and stretches if child lets parents touch them. It is very safe from a technical stand point by someone doing what they are supposed to be doing. I would get adjusted by the doctor first if it was my kid and ask them to adjust you as if you were the 3 yr old to get a sense of how it feels. Hope that helps. And yes I adjusted my child and she is 12 now and still asks to be adjusted occasionally when she feels something isn't right.
Absolutely! Chiropractic adjustments at birth is one of the best things that can be done for the baby. The birth process can be very stressful to the spine. Sometimes alot of force is used on the baby's head and neck and can subluxate or misalign the vertebrae. Sometimes forceps are used which also places great stress on the baby. If these problems are corrected at birth, the chances of developing spinal problems later on in life is minimized. Also the baby's nervous system and organs will work better subjecting them to less issues.
It is completely safe for babies, and can help with any number of childhood conditions (asthma, allergies, colic, reflux, torticollis, etc). I specialize in pediatrics and am very good with babies.
Yes, absolutely. However, the DC must be especially trained in Infant Adjusting, with proper certifications

This video is one I did on that very subject!
Absolutely! We specialize in seeing young kids and helping their nervous system develop properly.
Chiropractic is safe for any age. Just make sure the chiropractor you choose for your 3-year-old has a background or certification in pediatric adjusting.

Assuming no structural or neurological abnormalities, chiropractic is generally extremely safe for children. I recommend the whole family receives adjustments on a regular basis for brain and body wellness. I’ve delivered light-force adjustments to both of my nephews within 2 weeks of being born. I’ve also given treatment to multiple different children of all age ranges my entire career. Besides wellness care, there are many reasons parents bring their children in, such as: trouble sleeping, trouble feeding, colic/vomiting often, irregular bowel movements, and ear infections, to name a few.

Congrats, your 3 year old is a child. I have treated numerous infants and 1,2 and 3 year olds and older. The treatment is different from adults in that it is much more gentle and a different type of adjusting due to their bones having the growth plate non fused yet. I get better results with kids than adults. Kids haven’t been “beat-up” with life yet and they respond faster.
Chiropractors use very gentle, safe techniques with children. You should find a local chiropractor that you resonate with and they will take very good care of your family. I would look for a “family” chiropractor.
Hello,

Trauma happens to a babies spinal structure during the birthing process and the ramifications are a catalyst to mold how our structure adapts! Yes, it is safe for a 3yro to get treatment, the earlier one starts having their spine aligned, the better the outcomes for recovery and health if there happens to be additional trauma to the individuals body throughout their life.
Thank you for your question and inquiry.
Chiropractic is very safe for babies.
Chiropractic treatment is very safe for newborns, infants, toddlers etc. But I recommend a pediatric chiropractor for them.
Hello,

Chiropractic care is very safe for babies. I have been adjusting the spines of all three of my children since they were born. Adjustments for infants and babies is very different from
adjustments to adults. The spine is so flexible that very gentle treatment is all that's needed.

Warmest Regards,

Yes it is if needed.
Chiropractic care is just as safe (and just as necessary) for kids and babies as it is for adults! Techniques are modified to account for the smaller joints and to use less force. We usually have kids start to come to the office with their parent(s) before their first treatment so they can get used to the setting and start to add on small treatments. Kids love it!

Chiropractic is safe for young children and babies. Although the approach is very different from traditional chiropractic care. If you are interested in seeking chiropractic care for your child I would recommend you see a Chiropractor that specializes in children (they often focus on pre and post natal care for mothers as well).
