Most general anesthetics are a combination of intravenous and inhaled anesthetic agents. For adults, almost all general anesthetics are started with an intravenous agent.
Hi,
Induction of general anesthesia is typically administered via intravenous lines. General anesthesia is then be maintained via inhalational anesthesia gases, or sometimes via IV (total intravenous anesthesia), depending on individual patient and/or surgical procedure requirements.
