Anesthesiologist Questions Mri

Is it possible to have an MRI done under general anesthesia?

I'm 37 and I need to have an MRI scan soon. Can I have this done with general anesthesia? I get anxious when I have to get these types of scans and I want to make it easier for myself.

MRI settings in many hospitals are not prepared for geta. Instead, we could give you IV sedation.
Yes, it is possible, but a lengthy procedure. You have to talk to the ordering physician about having it with anesthesia. It has to be done in a hospital and it may cost you more depending on your insurance to get it approved.
That seems excessive. Perhaps a Xanax before the study.
