Pediatrician Questions Eyes and vision

Is it true that TV can hurt your vision?

My 4 year old daughter watches TV, but sits very close to it. I know that there are rumors that watching TV too close could affect your vision. Is it true that TV can hurt your vision?

Accommodation or focusing gets affected with too much up-close work.
Sitting up close to the TV may be a sign that she has vision problems. Too much blue light from phone screens and other electronics can harm your vision if children stare a long time without blinking. Limit TV and screen time and make sure she is getting physical activity. I would recommend a vision check before kindergarten anyway.
