“Is jaw surgery done in the hospital?”
My dentist thinks I need to have jaw surgery and has referred me to an oral surgeon. Would this surgery be done in a hospital?

Typically yes. Some forms of that surgery can be done safely on an outpatient basis where you would do the surgery in the hospital, but go home the same day.
