“Is local anesthesia given during a tooth extraction?”
I am a 29 year old female and I will have a tooth extraction next week. Is local anesthesia given during a tooth extraction?

Local anesthesia is routine in dental procedures. In case of minors or people with psychiatric disorders, they also give sedation.
Typically yes. Almost all dentists utilize a local anesthetic like lidocaine to numb the area around the tooth that will be extracted.
Hope this helps.
